Small businesses are important because they generate job opportunities and raise the economy. There are lots of small businesses that cling to out-dated traditional habits of self-management instead of progressing with the times, thus inhibiting their own industrial growth. Marketing is not a planned process in small business so that two situations stand out from the others: 1) small businesses make marketing worthless because they think it is only for big companies so that its role is reduced to sales and publicity only. 2) Big company strategies are performed by small business. These strategies are not suitable for small businesses. Small business sector is able to be more efficient by using marketing in a way the abilities, resources and structure give a profitable answer to its environment.
